THE SAARELA BUILDINGS HISTORICAL REPORT
We completed a research project on the building history of the Saarela house together with my colleague Vilja Halonen. The research was conducted to initiate the renovation and restoration of the house.

THE REUSE OF AN OLD SCHOOL BUILDING
The aim of this project was to research a beautiful, protected school building from 1929 and design ways to revitalize both the building and its surroundings.
In my proposal, I suggest transforming the building into a guesthouse combined with communal spaces for dance and open galleries.
This is a visualization I made of an old classroom in the building. I measured the room, modeled it, and created this plan for a guest room.
The final proposal also activates the unused and forgotten courtyard buildings and revitalizes the park
KEHTO - THE 98% RECYCLED PAVILION
We designed and built a hang-out pavilion designed for easy assembly and disassembly. It is made of 98% recycled materials. The wood consists of reclaimed logs that we washed and planed. The hardware is recycled and cleaned, and the ropes are old and no longer usable climbing ropes.
The pavilion measures 2 m × 2 m × 2 m, forming a perfect cube. It is created as a space for people to relax and look at the sky that the pavilion frames.
Kehto is finnish for the word cradle.
The details are designed to be as seamless as possible and the hand knit web is calculated to support the weight
of three people
